Jewellery Care

Jewellery items are as precious as the memories, moments, and people who hold them.

Where should my jewellery live?

Sterling silver should be kept in a dry, airtight location that is free from contaminants. This is a good way to protect it from tarnish. Jewellery that is frequently touched can also remain tarnish free by virtue of the abrasion of your hands.

What kinds of activities can my jewellery participate in?

My wish is always to make the most durable of jewels to suit your lifestyle. However, even the toughness of diamonds does not stand up against potential scrapes. Jewellery should participate in activities free from repeated blunt force, chemicals (like swimming pools!), or hair spray.

My sterling silver jewellery has tarnished - what do I do?

To remove tarnish from sterling silver:
1. Collect a small bowl, aluminum foil, baking soda, and boil some water. Acquire an old toothbrush & mild dish soap.

2. Line the bowl with the aluminum foil. Place your tarnished jewellery in the bowl with a tablespoon of baking soda.

3. Pour boiling water over the jewellery. *

4. Let the mixture fizzle for a minute, then carefully remove the jewellery. Scrub with a mild dish soap and the toothbrush. Dry, and admire your newly tarnish-free jewellery.

*If there are gemstones in the jewellery - approach with caution, as the shock of hot water and the heat may alter the gem. Always check with your trusty goldsmith about proper gemstone care.
